Read his Proclamation on this site (click visit site above) It calls for a National Hunting and Fishing Day, doesn't condone killing and torture of animals, except if that is the interpretation of National Hunting and Fishing Day.

Americans eat too much meat. A gentle reminder for our friends it takes forty times the fossil fuel to produce a pound of protein from feedlot beef as from soybeans.

I oppose hunting for sport. If the game is to be consumed, I see the advantages. We are destroying nature with domesticated animals - they are breeding grounds for diesease, they consume massive amounts of natural resources.

wild game on the other hand is native to the land and consumes much less resources. Hunting for food would therefore save resources.

If you disagree, I ask you to consider Bill Clinton, who in 1992 ate at McDonald's, promplty receiving much praise from the public and media, and one reporter went so far as to say it "made him a 'regular guy'".
