The latest update of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species should cause alarm over the continuing unprecedented loss of species and the failure so far of mechanisms to arrest biodiversity loss

What else can we expect when over population drives man into all of the wild habitats of the plants. Thank you, Cher, for this dreadful news which comes as no surprise.

Humans dont surprise me anymore. They are capable of doing the most destructive things on this planet.

These individuals that rape and exploit our planet, including the animal population.. are stealing the nations pride and joy.. and ours toooooo... this is selfish and greedy, they do not think further than their noses... and there punishment should be on the same level as treason...

Average Joe & Jane tend to think of humans as separate from other life and the environment. What the heck, so what if a certain South American minnow goes extinct; that doesn't affect me way thousands of miles away. In other words much thought is not given to life's connection overall.

But as nature has webbed and linked all life it truly does affect us all. We are not separate but entwined within and throughout. One piece of the strand unraveled affects the whole of the web' overall integrity. One chink in the link affects the chain's overall strength.

Species extinction, is a causative and natural event, but when hastened as this report suggests, nature appears out of balance...
