For years, dolphin hunts off the seaside town of Taiji, which turn coastal waters red with blood each winter, have drawn the ire of Western activists. But few among the Japanese public seemed to care, or even know, about the slaughter.

Japan can deal with it!

They are very abusive to whales and other marine life, without any apology!

If anything, we need more transparency with this country and how they treat marine wildlife and not to mention other living creatures.

This is not just Japan, but ather Asian nations I'm sorry to say.

Visit PETA.org to find out how you can help.

Nick don't forget your own countries proscecution of those who dared to film the seal killing and here we see a repeat performance by the devious Japanese who want to hide their similar dirty secret from the world in the same way as Namibia when they emulated the Canadian seal clubbing. Why do they not want us to know what they they do in secret. You certainly would not want them to babysit your children they might eat them or worse!

Amazing what happens when a community or country has their eyes opened. Hopefully more outrage will occur until change takes place!!!

That picture reminds me of when I had first started really getting into and being exposed to the animal issues and learning that I could, and about how and what I could do to make a difference... This sadly reminds me of the 2006 mammalian research protest when Greenpeace left that dead whale on the Japanese Embassy's doorstep in protest, I was so horrified by the blatant and non-chalant attitude toward cruelty, taken aback by such a distastful prank and use of a slaughtered creature, yet impressed that I was not alone in my compassion and outrage against these injustices. I had no idea how big the animal loving world was, and I'm so glad I don't think myself alone anymore!

Yes Nick, I agree. Each country has its fair or rather unfair share of cruelty to animals.

I'm a member of Save the Dolphins, "The Cove" stop the slaughter of 20.000 Dolphins in Japan, and Stop the slaughter of the Humpback by Japan. Well it's more an act through Facebook which I use for my research and get my friends interested in what Japan does not just in their own country but even in Oceanic waters belonging to other countries. It's not only Taiji fishermen who are so cruel but also the people of Faroe Island Denmark who have a terrible reputation for slaughtering Dolphins. Although Taiji fishermen stopped the slaughter of the small Dolphins they still kill Dolphins which carry the name Whale, and Whales and catch Bottlenosed Dolphins which they sell for a high sum of Dollars to everyone who's interested to buy them for showing them off and doing tricks like Waterworld. So Please STOP GOING TO places where they SHOW CAPTIVE DOLPHINS as one never knows where they come from and the Bottlenosed Dolphin is the most sought after Dolphin for these activities. Please, please I BEG of you DON"T GO TO THESE SHOWS!!!!!!! I've seen pictures and the trailer of "The Cove" but I wish I could have seen the complete film and hope I still can. I wish I was in a situation I could sponsor Ric O'Barry and his Team with their action and help the Dolphins and Whales the Japanese fishermen catch and kill inhumanely. I go on a Dolphin cruise on Saturday and hope to see WILD DOLPHINS and as I'm in a wheelchair we have asked for a good seat where I'll be able to see everything that is going on. Unfortunately we have to fly home to Melbourne Victoria Australia on Monday morning so please keep your fingers crossed that Saturday is a good day for the WILD DOLPHINS to give me a show as I refuse to go to Waterworld to see captive ones as that isn't fair on the Dolphins nor on what I believe in. At the moment I'm staying with my son in NSW. I'll keep you all informed on how Saturday develops for the Wild Dolphins and I hope they have a collection for the fight against the slaughter of the Dolphins in Taiji and the Faroe Island Denmark.

outrage???i really hope that more and more reports and fims of this kind invade the screens in Japan,so people will see with their own eyes what they don't want to know!i wonder if they don't know it already!
i hope it will mobilise people to the streets and encourage some to speak out strongly to achieve some result!
it's a shame how animals are still butchered around the world!
