The Los Angeles City Council's Public Safety Committee voted unanimously Monday to recommend that City Atty. Carmen Trutanich draft an ordinance banning cat declawing within city limits.

on a human this would be like an amputation to the first knuckle on your fingers. cats who are declawed (barbaric practice!) cannot defend themselves and the rescued siamese I took in used to walk like it hurt.

There is a website www.icanhascheezeburger.com with funny/cute cat pictures. You should check it out. It brightens my day when I see those pictures.

And I think they should ban cat declawing. It's just cruel! I would never do that to my two babies.

I don't understnd this, it is illegal in the UK and I can't imagine any vet wanting to do it unless there was a medical reason to do so. This is maiming, mutilation and downright disgusting.
