Two months???? A country that has the strangest animal life in the world can't amass enough resources to stop a oil leak? Give me a brake and toss the oild barons a few billion to make up for the oil they are loosing due to the spill!

Thanks Cher

This oil spill plus fire is concerning to many Australians. In the same way that commercial interests found it difficult to clean up after the Exon Valdiz, they are having trouble dealing with this oil spill and fire.

Before such companies are allowed to drill in the way they wish they should be required to demonstate before the event that they are capable of cleaning up their messes, which are bound to occur. They should also be held more accountable at law for the damage they do, so that there is a big stick to motivate them.

Throw the dunb F**ks into the sea and watch them suffer. We have war crimes trials, time to have polluter crimes trials. Of course the multinationals have the governments of the world in their pockets, hard to find a country with the balls to do it. I am really disgusted with australia over this crap!!!!

I agree with Mary D.'s comments, above. The oil company that drilled for oil off Australia's Kimberley Coast has a lot to answer for. TWO MONTHS passed, and the oil is still leaking from the sea floor??!! This is the strongest case yet against unregulated oil drilling in pristine waters off coastlines. The offending company must be made to pay millions of $$$ in damages to Australia, as well as marine life organizations in the country; and, if more than one firm was involved in this drilling, then, all those involved must be made to share in pay8ing out for the devastation they created.

The Australian Government must enforce environmental standards when it comes to off-shore drilling and hold those responsible for the above-mentioned ecological disaster accountable for the mess they caused.

Thanks Cher!
Thanks Mary for your comment...I wish the politicians and barons were as clear-thinking and as ethical as you.
