Why neuter a tiger? Why run the risk of surgery for this?

Now who is the remaining brother going to mate with? His sister???

Why neuter the tiger in the first place? To prevent mating with his sister?

Nothing here makes sense! What a waste of a tiger's life.

RIP dear one.

He was being housed with his sister and another male. If he wasn't neutered he would have fought with the other male, often causing serious or life-threatening injuries, or bred with his sister...leading to defective cubs. Neutering was the best choice. The Tiger may be endangered in the wild, but overpopulated in captivity. There are Tigers that have to be killed because nobody will take them. Can the ones produced in captivity ever return to the wild? NO! The only way to save a species is to save their habitat and keep people from hunting them. Zoos don't do a damn thing.
