The exceptional part of the story, Jones said, is that the dog had never met or even seen the people it quickly jumped to defend.

Dogs ROCK! People who want to ban whole breeds of dogs regardless of any dog's personality and behavior should try using their brains once in a while. Dogs MUST be evaluated as individuals - I hope this story gets big play all over, so people (those who can read anyway) might begin to understand that prejudice against a breed of dogs is no more intelligent and thoughtful and mature than prejudice against a race of humans. Big kitty hugs to the dog!!

The dog obviously realised, probably from smell, that the woman was scared and ran to protect her.

I hate people who judge according to race. If we do that then Germans should be kept in a cage, they are responsible for the two world wars, and America should be cagd as they have supported and sponsored the very people that they now fight. Shall I continue?
