Are there sadly not human cases of irradiation that could be studied? This does happen to some people, and that would be of more use to Nasa than irrdaiting monkeys -- the results they get will only tell them what happens in monkeys, not humans, so it will be of doubtful use.

In the UK recently, there was a case of a poor girl who was given 16 intense doses of radiation at the incorrect power. Sadly, she did not make it...

NASA to me is a complete waste of time and money All their efforts should be on cleaning up this planet and getting alternative energy going!!! Instead of torturing poor innocent creatures.
