STOP THE SLAUGHTER OF THE GRAY WOLF ! TAKE ACTION !

Taxpayers spent millions to recover the very same wolves the Obama administration is now letting Greater Yellowstone states kill. There is no comprehensive federal wolf plan...just a bunch of people in camouflage gunning down wolves in Idaho and Montana

noted & signed. It is ridiculous that the wolf is just starting to get established and hunters come in and shoot. There is no restriction on which wolf is killed so the alphas are selected and, especially when one is feeding pups, can destroy the entire pack. Nature will allow the fittest to survive, not man. All they want to do is have their picture with a dead animal.

The Wolf Killers are at it again. The same people who probably declared a National American Indian Heritage Day. It's Obama and Palin, as far as I know.

Oh is this the same macho man who put his prized firearm on top of the wolf he killed? You are a man, Mister Macho. Making up for what nature didn't give you. Why else would you kill to prove yourself? YOU SUCK.

I have signed so many petitions, called the office, my congressman's office, etc. The killing continues. OBAMA AND PALIN. You will get nowhere with Salazar. Believe me. He has gotten tons of calls, letters, petitions and the killing continues. It starts at the top and works it's way down. OBAMA AND PALIN. Making the American Indian Holiday was a farce if you knew the history of Wolf Wisdom and traditions. When I have a chance, I will quote a book on Wolf Wisdom. These books are out there - do a google. You will see how these politicians are trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

what is so stupid is there are states that need wolves and instead of capturing and sending the wolves to these states, they are viviously slaughtered. humans do not use thier brains.

the whole reason these wolves are slaughtered instead of sending them to states that need wolves, is the state makes money off the liences they sell to the monsters who go out and murder these animals.

stupid, disgusting money hungery monsters.

Many Contacts to Mr. Ken Salazar's Office Have Proved Nothing Accomplished

Besides calling my local congressman, different offices in the Dept of the Interior, speaking to about 5 people (you will never get to Mr. Salazar's Office) and signing petitions and sending letters, nothing has been accomplished, more murder.

Can there be some way to get these Change.org petitions onto Care2. I get so many of these requests and no matter what I've done I can't access Change.org. I open so many of these requests to sign only to have to close them. It seems more petitions I can't sign then I can lately.

Has Cher called their offices and tried to get to someone who knows Mr. Salazar? Has anyone? Has anyone called their local congressman and had emails sent to Salazar's office? Has anyone done anything besides sign petitions that accomplish nothing? Signed, Noted, thank you Cher. Meantime the wolves are getting shot and the licenses are getting sold to the hunters. The petition should go to Obama. I signed one this morning from a special organizaton going directly to him. Be a leader for once, rather than a follower.

Certainly I’ll be slammed, but there are so many inaccuracies in this story and its comments that I am compelled to point some out:
First, yes taxpayers paid for the wolf restoration projects. But what taxpayers? Through the license fees and the Pittman-Robertson tax on guns, ammo, and archery equipment, US hunters contribute $3.5 million per day for wildlife conservation – far more than any other group. With the wolf restoration project costing around $1.5 million per year over the last 20 years, the regular taxpayer is not funding this.
As far as a comprehensive federal plan goes the USFW has turned the wolf management program over to each state that has provided it with a workable, realistic plan to manage wolf populations in that state – specifically Montana and Idaho. The season was closed in Montana on November 17th because they were close to their established quota – 74 out of 75 – which is 15% of their wolf population. The season in Idaho remains open as they are far from their established quota of 220 (114 as of Nov. 25). So far the comprehensive plan the federal dept – USFW – worked out with these 2 states seems to be implemented as they mapped out together. Obviously you disagree with the plan, but to claim there is no plan is disingenuous.
“There is no restriction on which wolf is killed so the alphas are selected and, especially when one is feeding pups, can destroy the entire pack.” Actually wolves mate between January and March and gestation is 61-63 days. Pups only nurse for 10 weeks so they are fully weaned by August well before the season opened.
“what is so stupid is there are states that need wolves and instead of capturing and sending the wolves to these states” Actually when the USFW working with the states decide to reintroduce wolves in another state this is exactly what they do. They are no states which are prepared to haphazardly accept the nearly 300 wolves that would be required to be relocated to keep the wolf population stable (and growing still) in just Montana and Idaho.
“the whole reason these wolves are slaughtered instead of sending them to states that need wolves, is the state makes money off the liences they sell to the monsters who go out and murder these animals.” Actually as previously mentioned the license money goes to wildlife conservation efforts. It is required by law that the funds collected for hunting licenses be used for this purpose and not put in the “general fund.”
Whether you agree or disagree with this, if you feel strongly about it (or anything else for that matter) you should take the time to learn something about it.

I've signed about 10 petitions. You are wasting your time. You need to write letters to people higher up than Salazar or make phone calls. Calls to Salazar's office are useless since I've tried about 3 times and people call all the time. Someday, a resourceful person here will reach out to the right party with a letter or phone call. It's not Salazr. Wolves are still going to be killed long after this petition goes out. Oh I signed it. But you are all wasting your time. Why can't you deal with that? Do your research and go higher up on the food chain. SALAZAR IS A WASTE OF TIME.

Do a Google on Ken Ssalazar. People want him to step down. Wait till you read what else he's been up to. There's an article "10 Things you didn't know about Ken Salazar". Do your homework and realize you're dealing with an incompetent appointee. I asume he was appointed rather than elected. He's not a good person for the job he has. Read the dozens of articles.

Someday humankind will pay for its collective cruelty and interference with nature. Humans always "know best" and manipulate nature often with unexpected and untoward consequences. Shame on them and heaven help those of us who have deep empathy for animals. We may not prevail in this life, but, hopefully, karma will be the ultimate equalizer and those guilty of such heinous misdeeds against animals will pay dearly.
