The death penalty is an outdated and inhumane form of punishment that dates back to the fifth century BC. Over its history, the death penalty has evolved from its nascent stage where it was once the only form of judicial punishment to a phase in which

There are too many grey areas in our justice system to allow us to take someone's life. Once that person is gone, no apology can make things right.

I object to the death penalty. Due to institutional racism, the death penalty continues to be applied quite unevenly. Secondly, I have never understood how someone's barbaric actions magically justify the state acting barbarically toward them and supposedly on my behalf. This is not what I want. Unfortunately, I live in a radical teabag state. My representatives do not listen to anything I have to say nor do they read any of the hundreds of emails, petitions, etc. that I have submitted to them. I am, for all practical purposes, disenfranchised. I did not vote for this teabagger elite presently running my state into the ground, but I am stuck with them. They don't care. The only thing I can say about my state is that, although it still has the death penalty, it uses it sparingly like most states. It is in the final analysis not as extreme as Texas or Florida. Those two states execute more people than just about the rest of the planet put together.
