Thanks for helping save the Mountain Yellow-Legged Frogs. With your support we will ensure that the state of California takes wildlife and environmental conservation seriously, and lists these frog species under the state's Endangered Species Act.

The plea on their site is misleading. There is NO scientific evidence ANYWHERE that suction dredgers kill frogs. We are envrionmentalists ourselves, and we do NOT kill frogs. Frog death may be more likely by someone walking along the side of a creek, not watching where they are walking. We are working underwater in the creek and we rarely see frogs (as they go to another part of the creek when we are around).

There is scientific evidence the main cause of their demise is fish stocking by the DFG and a fungus on their skin. A newer issue (which ultimately will affect ALL of us) is radiation coming from Japan. They will be the first species to be affected by the DNA changing radiation.

Actually and update! The National Park Service found a way to save the yellow legged frog- just take all the non-native trout species out of the rivers and lakes, and the frogs experienced a 10,000% increase in population. Apparently in the 2 National Parks they did the remediation at in California, the frogs are abundant.
