Please Do Not Euthanize Tony ! PLEASE SIGN ! !

Animals  (tags: animals, AnimalWelfare, AnimalCruelty, dogs, environment, protection, pets )

Over the past three months Tony, a friendly healthy-minded canine who was raised as more of a family member than a pet, has been in the pound because he was wrongfully accused of killing the small pet of his neighbor.

I signed but without knowing what # I am. More importantly however, here is my comment:

Please don't euthanize Tony. Tony is an innocent, dog caught up in a war of 'he said, she said.' It will cost more to euthanize him than it will to return him to his family. Tony has been denied proper nutrition, stuck in a cage smaller than him. He has lost so much weight his ribs show through his skin. Tony is an animal, not a human. The jails are not set up to accomidate animals only humans so please stop treating Tony as if he were human. Although I must admit that humans don't get treated like a dog when they're incarcerated, do they?

Thnx for posting Cher!

This is so unjust! There is no proof that the dog did anything wrong, yet he has been sentenced to die. Give him the same rights you would give an accused human--a just trial with a burden of proof to be met. He would be free now had that type of justice been applied.

Humans can do anything to animals that they want without fear of responsibility under the law. The neighbor was grief stricken that their dog was killed and Tony seems to have been in the vicinity, easy to condemn with their hate driven grief. Sadly Tony is not guilty. I have seen dogs that have killed something, there is blood all over them, they revel in it and roll in it. Tony had no blood on him anywhere, he couldn't have done it. The neighbor is in a blind rage to make Tony responsible, human nature can be so revolting sometimes.

The pointy-headed bimbo accusing this dog likely lost hers to wild animals. Shame on her for implicating a neighbour's dog, hope she ends up having to pay all legal and boarding fees plus take over her former neighbour's tax load when the neighbours take their dog and leave the county!

What I don't see covered here is whether the dog who has been killed (I read small dog) was in its own yard in a fence. Likely not or this would not be an issue. This seems like discrimination against a large dog.

Poor baby. Why end this dog's life just to side with someone who pretends that he killed her dog... There was no blood... Someone did that to my dog too and they found out after that it was another dog ! I was glad they found out. People like that just want someone's dog to put the blame on. Getting revenge on someone's pet is not gonna bring her pet back. I'm sorry for her pet but Wake Up people, Tony loves his humans and they love their dog. They say he didn't do it and I believe them. I'm sure all their friends and family members can prove to you that this is a gentle dog.

now is more than 700 signatures, way to go! I think the woman must have some kind of hallucinations, she does not have any evidence to support her blame to this dog, maybe she just does not have anything else to do, or someone else, must it kill her dog, you never know, and maybe she just saw the dog and thought it mighty it been him.

This case needs an investigator. First for the wrongful accusations against Tony , for which there appears to be not basis of truth . And second against the shelter that is holding him - and as BarbCat said - he has become emaciated, and is in a cage too small to move . I do believe they arrest people for that - it is called animal abuse and c cruelty. Where is the damn place? Tony's owner needs a Lawyer ! Best wishes to Tony and his owner . And my sympathy to the owners of the little one that was killed - but NOT by Tony .

Very funny Stuart! -but I'm sure it feels like prison to Tony,if he's still in the cage.

Stuart Thomas (497)
Monday March 12, 2012, 12:25 pm
Pinke, I am sorry that you thought I was being funny. I WASN'T!!!!!

If you remember your grammer lessons a bit better, you probably would remember that in what was written was unclear in what "he's" in that sentence is referring to.

Actually, that sentence read "I agree with Stuart Thomas - it's to bad he's still in prison". The antecedent of "he's still in prison" was "I agree with Stuart Thomas - " and misleadingly would suggest that Stuart Thomas was in prison - and I was not and am not in prison.

I was just trying to clarify the statement I had read prior to the one I posted so people would not think that it was I who was "in prison".

If you read what I had previous posted twice before entering my third posting, you would know that I have much compassion for Tony and want the best for that poor dog.

This is my letter sent to the presiding Judge :
Dear Judge Nabor,

I received a circulation about a canine named Tony (a family pet) being accused of killing a neighbor’s pet, with only the accuser’s claim and no other concrete proof.
My beloved Father, a French-educated, presiding Judge of the Court of Appeal and later served the Supreme Court of the Republic of Vietnam (French Indochina), would never sentence the accused to death with such frivolous claim. It is obvious that the neighbors / humans counterpart have had some issues with each other, the accuser is being vindictive, and the pet’s live is at stake, senselessly.
How would you feel if a neighbor does not like you, and treat you and your love one the same when an occasion arises ?
Per Gandhi : “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated”, so how would you judge your greatness and moral progress, in this case, dear Judge ?

Even if there were concrete proof Tony accidently killed the other pet, the fair sentence would be for the human-counterpart (who also has no control of the situation) to maybe compensate the neighbor with another pet. Taking Tony’s live DOES NOT bring the other pet back, or achieve anything other than you, yourself (beside the accuser) are both assassins. If a human criminal deserves a second chance, why such loyal, noble animal do not deserve it ?? Is it because he is half pit bull, and you have something against pit bull ?

Big dogs are not my cup of tea either, but they are as fierce, loyal, like and loving like any other pet. I consider them more noble than some human-counter parts I came across. Regardless of any race, people and animal have a life and love just like you and I. Please, consider my pledge for this suffering family and most of all, for canine Tony’s life, who cannot speak for himself. I believe that “Karma” will eventually catch up with us, for all we do to others. I have witnessed it time after time. Being French-educated, I would like to remind you that Robespierre who invented the guillotine was himself beheaded at the end.

I know you have a good heart, a great vision, and will do the right thing.

It is obvious that the humans counterpart have had some issues with each other, the accuser is being vindictive, and the pet’s live is at stake, senselessly. the Judge CANNOT sentence Tony todeath without concrete proof. Even if there were concrete proof that Tony accidently killed the other pet, the fair sentence would be to compensate by replacing with another pet. Taking Tony’s live DOES NOT resolve anything other than making the accuser and the judge herself, an assassin! If a human criminal deserves a second chance, why such loyal, noble animal do not deserve it ?? This is absolute madness! Without talking about inhuman act! Tony is beloved pet and he made one mistake, maybe! .Even people do make mistakes,so do the dogs.It is totally wrong to euthanize him for that.
Show some humanity and change this barbaric mistake and let him go home to his family. It is there he belongs!
