Climate change is real and scientists warn that its impacts are only going to get worse. In fact scientists are in near unanimous agreement on the threat of global warming and man's significant impact on it.

Most scientists concur that we have global warming, yet we have idiots in office who insist on making this political and stupidly ignore a MAJOR WORLDWIDE PROBLEM. This is a shameful travesty and these political two bit hacks need to be removed.

While I don't for a moment believe in 'global warming' nor will I ever believe a word from the diseased mouths of Gore or Moore, I do observe and believe in global climate fluctuation. This winter, Europe froze while North America had balmy weather; no net 'warming' but a massive climate shift. Windstorm activity has been rising and rainfall patterns are warped. We need to put the blankets of forest and grass back on the world, start filtering our darn plastic and trash out of the sea, and quit soiling our nest...

The problem is that particularly for the Repug/Tea Bagged, mostly because they are already Theocrats, their politics has become a religion, their political ideology is exactly the same as religious dogma/canon law, policies have become Divine Commandments, opposition/disagreement is sin, faith and belief trumps science, facts, reality. Santorum is a perfect example, although they all do it, he refers to Climate Change as a "false theology", also any economic plan that is not more of the same old failed 'pissing on the 99%' taxes and cuts, militarism. And when they read the US Constitution it says what they want it to say, or they want to repeal the offending part, 'freedom of religion and the exercise thereof' applies to them and only them and if applied to any one else it is 'religious discrimination' against them or 'special privileges', women, LGBT, Muslims persons... are not covered/protected by the Bill of Rights or the rest of the Constitution, look up Alito on women- a Supreme Court Justice who public states that women are not covered by the US Constitution.

@Llyod H.....Excellent analysis. I would like to add the background to those 'beliefs'. The think tanks of the 1%, especially ALEC are packaging the positions of the 1% to make them easy to swallow. They target different groups, like the Radical Christians, Republican politicians etc. The MAIN man behind these think tanks is David Koch. Anything to increase his wealth (mainly Oil but he has spread out to include chain restaurants & Bounty paper towels) is fair game. When interviewed by a major magazine [I think it was Time - I read the interview on line - I goggled David Koch], his reply about GLOBAL WARMING was that it was a GOOD THING because it would create more farmland in the regions now too cold to farm. THIS IS ASININE !!! As we all know, global warming causes the land to become arid. We lose water. Anyway, with an attitude like that and all the money in the world to proliferate it, you get the NEW CHURCH OF KOCH in the guise of the TEABAGGERS, WINGNUTS & RADICAL CHRISTIANS. As long as these think tanks can dovetail his viewpoint with some cherished belief of theirs, they are sold.

This whole business is 'one big joke' and it's on us.
Of course, climate change exists; it's a question of the _cause_. If humans play a part in it, we must change what we are doing. If it is a normal cycle, we still must change what we are doing.
Has no one heard about the 'straw that broke the camel's back'?

Our planet can only take so much abuse, before it rebels. Why is erring on the side of caution, a bad idea? Are we so selfish, that we refuse to change our patterns of behavior?.......Or, is it, about the Tea Party Republicans, catering to Big Business, in hopes of being invited to join their clique?
