Women are still denied human rights, subject to violence and oppression, and make up less than one in five of the world's parliamentarians. Education can change all this

To become educated is to learn to reason, to hypothesize, to find solutions to problems.

Tyrants prefer their people to be uneducated. Thinking people solve problems.

Happy Women's Day Everyone. I am Woman and I am Proud. I teach my three granddaughters to be proud of who they are and what they can achieve in life. Truthfully, men would not know what to do if we were not here. LOL

Thanks for sharing Cher. God Bless

It may be International Women Day, but it's still a MAN"S WORLD. We have to educate our MEN as BOYS to respect and revere the female social hierarchy within the family and also recognize the challenges we face and advancements & contributions women have made in the world. It does no good to have days on a calendar if we are still seen & treated as second class citizens throughout the world. Education YES, but it starts at home with our male children, and should follow them through life!

Tell it to those cultures which seek to enslave women in cultures of ignorance and obedience to men!

Excerpt:

Around the world, women are paying the price of war; they work tirelessly for peace, yet they are often not invited to the negotiating table during the peace process.

donating to programs that educate women and give them economic power is the best way to improve a society, since women are more likely to invest in healthcare, education, and the elderly. look into kiva and FINCA and heifer international, which are all organizations that help women be powerful members of their community while they gain economic self-sufficiency.
