This is amazingly common -also for other species to act as a surrogate mother.

I love these stories! The shelter I work at has had 3 "foster" feline mom's this spring. For some reason we have seen a rise in abandoned kittens that are super young, fortunately we have also seen a rise in surrogate kitty mom's! It's always an awe inspiring moment when the young kittens are finally cleaned and nursing!

Have you noticed how in the animal world they have this marvelous sense of compassion and family - and it's innate. Humans on the other hand.......

I'm sorry she lost her kittens, she is better then alot of human so-called mothers that kick their own kids out of the house, I say this because I know someone who did!

I remember when I had a cat who lost her kittens and she would take the kittens from the other cat, they were going back & forth with them until I shut them together for the day, after that they shared.

Wouldn't it be great if people had half this compassion. Instead we hunt to extinction, hunt for sport not food and have superstitious ideas about animal derivatives which are imbecilic.

How sweet!
Another example that animals are usually much better and loving than many heartless humans out there and they don't discriminate!

What a beautiful cat. I hope all find loving forever homes. Wouldn't it be great if they could all be adopted together?
