well, i sort of have a problem with this petition, i wont sign it, i worked in the gulf oil spill, it was awful, tragic, and i dont like off coast drilling, not one bit, but i know one thing, BP has paid 56 billion, and the only oil company that actually paid and offered to do anything for us volunteers, and when we got hit with the second hurricane out there, awful as it was, that rotten oil company did everything to clean up us and house us to keep us safe, and they are still paying, and not one other company has paid a damn thing, so the white house releasing the wild life papers, means what? im not signing it, but gladly noted, i dont get the petition

im sorry Cher, i should not have spoken against this petition, I guess its just because i'm touchy about BP, everyone boycotted this oil company while the clean up was going on, and the volunteer missions went on for 2 years, all the wild life lost was prolonged and BP was the only company that actually was paying, it was hard on the animals and the local people and the environment, and still going to be, sorry for being a loud mouth.. ={

Though I understand what Roxy is saying..and I agree that BP was the only company doing what they did..However I feel it is important to release the true extent of damage as well as the loss of animals in that disaster..I am sure the public already has some idea just how great that loss really was..And still is doing harm out there..

Thanks Cher..

Why isn't anyone in jail for the devastation of the Gulf caused by BP's negligence and corner cutting. After all, corporations are now people so we can put their directors and CEO's behind bars. That would send a real message to the people that control BIG OIL.

I agree Roxy is a hero for having worked long enough and hard enough on the cleanup to have needed shelter, and has a right to make public (and we have a right to know) that BP did help and also that no one else did. But I don't think the point is to "get" BP as much as it is to demonstrate and make very public how horribly dangerous this is. Shell is only stopping temporarily. They think they are going to start right up again when the weather changes. More evidence of how idiotic this is wouldn't hurt, and might help.

Humankind has not woven the web of life.
We are but one thread within it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
All things are bound together.
All things connect.
Chief Seattle, 1854

When all the trees have been cut down,
When all the animals have been hunted,
When all the waters are polluted,
When all the air is unsafe to breathe,
Only then will you discover
You cannot eat money.
Cree Prophecy

Treat the earth well.
It was not given to you by your parents,
it was loaned to you by your children.
We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors
We borrow it from our Children.
Ancient Indian Proverb
