A study, published in the Journal of Archaeological Science, at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and the Catalan Institute of Human Paleoecology and Social Evolution (IPHES) has found that our prehistoric ancestors just may have been more ahead of the

Quote: "The archaeologists found entire settlements buried under landslides with man-made causes."

People in those times may not have had the intelligence to realize the consequence of their acts (eg landslides) whereas today we are very aware and yet carry on regardless.

Actually, as emerged during the 1970's, planned obsolescence is what was new not recycling or creating things designed to last lifetimes.

Just think what we would have to make do if our world came crashing down on us and there was nothing left but rubble! The few left standing would be starting from scratch. They would collect what they could find and make it into something useful to them at the moment. I think it is an interesting thought.

Rich jerks like Cheney, Palin, Scalia and their ilk do not hunt. They go to game farms and shoot hand fed creatures who are afraid of being out of their cages and approach people to be fed and protected. Palin has used helicopters to kill animals too inteligent and healthy to allow incompetent lazy people to shoot. I grew up in Wisconsin. Many people still hunt to feed themselves because there are few jobs that offer living wages. My parents and older siblings lived this way sometimes. By the time I was old enough to remember things were a little better. Opening up the National Parks will not help the hungry and poor but will set the precident for more logging, oil drilling, mining and development. Billionaires will have a new government supplied playground and the admission fees and police state will keep out the citizen riff raff. People might try to protest there and be beaten and arrested for 'terrorism' like the OCCUPY get arrested for being on public sidewalks.

Cue up ZAKAS 'Brand Old' and 'Tremble Tremor'
If people in the Stone Age understood that nature was limitted, why didn't the people of the Bronze, Iron, and Industrial Ages - including the modern civilisation - keep that lesson?

The last episode of the original "Connections" series (in 1978) examined what we might do if we had to start over again from the plow. I know I am a wimpy city (well, at least suburban) person who would find it very rough. Even though I do recycle as much as I can. Thanks for the story.

Oh yes, "Connections" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connections_(TV_series)

Interesting article. It makes sense, since they didn't have disposals, etc when they were around. Amazing how they were smart enought to recycle. Thanks Cher

If they were similar to us, brain size, etc...would a genius then be able to understand the workings of nature..when it was going to rain, cloud patterns, methods of hunting animals, healing wounds via plants etc. or would they be one lonely and bored cave man? We have no remaining evidence, but I think it is entirely possibe. These people would have been of great benefit to the tribe. We can thank them for setting the "wheels" of civilization a spinning in the right direction.
Oh yeah, they paraded around in their birthday suits...not cringing in fear of the "original sin"---holy crap! We are NAKED!! oh for the shame of it all!...so much for Adam and Eve, huh?
