More than 63 percent of the continental United States remained in moderate to exceptional drought in early September, as the nation's most widespread drought since 1956 continued to threaten drinking water supplies, crops and livestock.

This is indeed and important article. If we don't figure out something soon we will have a bigger problem down the road in regards to water sustainablity.
Thanks Cher.

Collect all the snow that falls and use it for irrigation when needed!

The technology is already here. The states just need to implement it.

Cher, Thanks for bringing attention to a very important issue. We need to start doing something about climate change now, it should be a much bigger topic in this election cycle than it is. Also, this is all the more reason to fight to ban fracking, as it creates irrevocable damage to huge amounts of our existing water supply. Thanks also for the link to Green Living Magazine, which I hadn't seen before. I've signed up for their e-mail updates.
