BUT!!! They should have let the gator live! His lack of success in hanging on to Bounce and his failure to scare Steve off means he would be very, very unlikely to try again, and therefore wouldn't teach that to his/her offspring.

Stories like these are so common in Florida. Responsible parents do not let their children go anywhere near water.

wow now that shows true comitment to take care of a pet-great story,that leg injury looked pretty bad,so glad he is ok and his dog is alright-great story!!

Love that he reacted to save his baby without regard for his own safety.
I strongly suggest he build a strong fence.

Would he let his dog run off-leash in a busy street? Would he let his dog run off-leash in areas where there are cougars? Then why let his dog run off-leash in ALLIGATOR country?

Since my neighborhood is at the bottom of a mountain canyon, bears, mountain lions and coyotes are NOT uncommon. Also common are notices of "lost dogs" and "lost cats" posted around the neighborhood.


Now, this man is responsible for the death of the 'gator.
