Kitties make so many lovely noises ... and some that make my eyes go wide and my flesh shiver.

I live with every one of these...why do cats have this habit of heaving in the middle of the night? I have asked, to no reply.

Great post Cher. I think the upchucking sounds in the bedroom at night are the worst, followed by the mine field tip toe in the dark to the light switch. If you're lucky, no warm squish! EWWWWWWW.

Used to hate the sound outdoor cats made that mimiked the cry of a human baby. Now, rather enjoy the variety of noises my 3 indoor cats make at various times of the day.

The sound my cat makes when he realizes he is about to be put in the carrier for a vet trip. Worse than any warning sound to intruding cats in the yard. Far worse. All activity in hell stopped for a moment at the sound of the screech. That loud, that bad.

One of my cats gives out this blood curdling howl before she barfs up a hair ball. First time I heard it, I thought she was dying.

I know most of these sounds. The one I hate is the sudden frantic running and bumping into things. Means someone is getting chased, and not in a playful matter.
