Sophie was injured after she spotted coyote in the family's backyard in East County. The dog's family said that they heard a cry and ran out to see Sophie step in front the family puppy to protect it from the coyote.

Animals are so loyal and loving. I wish that in Asia they can see what we see and apprecite in our fabulous dog freinds, and not see them as meat. One can hope. Thanks Cher!!!

Kinda makes me mad. Little Sophie steps up and is a hero and what does the family do - they dump her. Hate to think this way, but they probably didn't want to pay the $ to get her fixed up because they could have moved to many places where she and the pup could live. You don't need to live in a wilderness area to have a couple of dogs.

The family that discarded Sophie and the puppy are scum. They could have easily have fenced off a safe area but NO these revolting bastards threw these 2 away like trash.Shame on them

While you would have to get through me to get to my dogs, and I know what to do with mine (and I have coyotes that live behind my home in the woods), there are people who are out of their depth with animals and or wildlife.

All I know is that this beautiful, very brave and loyal little Sophie deserves a home that will love her and cherish her and return all the good qualities that she has back to her tenfold. Maybe she will get another opportunity to be with another little puppy again. We wish little Lulu a happy a safe life with her new family as well.

Can't send Kye J. a star but I completely agree. I hope Sophie finds a forever home with people that care about her. I hope those idiots that gave her up are not allowed pets ever again, they are stupid and irresponsible and should not be pet owners.
