Now there's a headline I didn't expect to read when I woke up this morning.

Lucky man! I'm always looking for whale vomit when I'm walking on the beach....darn!
Seriously though, I wish him the best of luck and I hope it's real.

That is truly something you don't see everyday, good for him for sharing his find with others to educate us about it.

The word "perfume" is an umbrella term for applied scent. And ambergris is ubiquitous in older formulas across the board because of its stabilising properties. However, it is much less common nowadays, having been frequently replaced by synthetic alternatives.

Perfume comes from the Latin 'by smoke' and was originally applied to burnt offerings.

"I'm going to make this vomit into perfume" that's a line you don't hear every day.

Lots of money there -sell it to a perfume maker. Ambergris was once the "gold" for the whaling industry that so decimated the world's whale populations. Yes, it was in high demand as a perfume base.

Like Lynne, I would say :'What a find'. I mean, no whale was killed for that.
