According to Time Magazine, China is burning as much coal as the rest of the world is cumulatively burning. What's the problem with this? Time reports: "Coal already accounts for 20% of global greenhouse-gas emissions, making it one of the biggest causes

China is a pit. This hell hole of a country does not deserve or belong on this earth. There is never anything positive coming from this awfull place. It's a souless place which is devoid of feeling and compassion.

This information ist horrible!
But I am even more horrified by some comments, which are incredibly negative and hate against a billion people. Do you really think that each and every one of these people is terrible?
I will name some reasons why China is worthy of respect and a valuable country:
1. It has a rich culture and monumental history which influences us in a good way.
2. It has a lot of environmental projects. While it is still one of the worst polluters, it pollutes less every year.
3. It is politically quite diverse. While its government rules with great brutality, people disagree and fight against it. Every year, 10.000 (no typo, four zeroes) are beat down by government!

Plus, don´t get so self-righteous- while the US has 6% of the world´s population, it uses up more than a quarter of its resources (like water, oil and wood).

China needs to do something much faster concerning global warming than it is at present It uses up more resources than anywhere else Its not much good having culture and history when everyones dying of smog because of all the pollution .It has the worst human rights record and animal abuse Its time it started thinking about the rest of the people on this planet and stop using so much coal for a start It may have the money at the moment to lend to others and technology but those things wont buy Chinas population their health and money wont stop global warming

noted thanks

Interesting, but , being the most populated country in the world, it was not a surprise.

this is sad news
but people should know that china is one of the leading countries investing into clean energy - R&D and implementation

PS: I'm not from china but people should know "both sides of the coin"

Following in our footsteps, are they?

They just haven't evolved enough, yet, but, then again, how will it take us?

China, choke on it. Unfortunately it is Australia who supplies a lot of the coal to China cheaply. In return we receive inferior products from China filling our land fills with poison. Boycotting China is the only way to make them think twice before killing this planet.
