The American Kennel Club recently released the 10 most popular dog breeds for 2012, and The Humane Society of the United States has found these very breeds in inhumane puppy mills across the country.

In 2012, the Missouri Department of Agriculture listed 2,282 entities that are required to register under the Animal Care Facilities Program. These registrants included breeders, animal shelters, pet sitters, and more. 1.001 of these entities (nearly 44%) registered as commercial breeders.

Also during 2012, more than 19,000 dogs and cats had to be put down by animal welfare and control agencies in "my" 5-county, 1 home rule city metro area alone. Commercial breeders are in business for blood money.

Barbara. PA.seems to be notorious.
Even with the puppy lemon law.
The dog I got as a rescue died at 2 of an inoperable brain tumor. 15 puppy litter. ..the mother was way too old to have been bred.Greedy breeding there.I got the place shut down. Guess more exist.
