That woman should be prosecuted for more than a misdemeanor! If that was a child she would be facing felony charges. These animals are just as innocent and deserving as a child. Thank you Cher for bringing this to our attention.

Thanks. Another awful animal story. Everyday i read through several but how about the ones that we are not aware of???? There has to be animal rights laws in place similar to ours. No more petty fines and misdemeaners. All animals should have rights, and that's that.

One horror after another, why don't we as so called civilized people respond to animal abuse as we to do human abuse?

Poor Taffy; the baby is in SO much pain! Too bad Joyce cannot feel that pain instead; it would be only fair.
Joyce should be facing FELONY charges!

Why do people do this? if you can not afford to have an animal (In this case a dog) then don't have one, but don't ever abuse, neglect or abandon an animal!!

If you cannot take care of your pet, because you don't have the financial means, or you have other problems- then FIND THE PET A NEW HOME! There is no excuse for a pet to suffer because you are too lazy or selfish or stupid to give the animals proper care. (For the whiners out there that say vet care is too expensive- ask your local humane society if they know of any lower priced vets, or if there are any groups that may subsidize some medical care for low income pet owners; start a chip-in for your pet's care; ask friends and neighbors for a loan)

Neglect is only apparently less severe than other kinds of more "active" abuse. Passive abuse is still abuse. All cruelty is a crime.
