In the 1960s, it was estimated that there were 200,000 lions on the African continent. Sadly, only 20,000 are left today. Sport hunting is still permitted in the wild and South Africa specifically breeds lions for captive hunting,- "canned hunting".

Its sickening all this hunting and poaching going on in Africa and south Africa seems to have more sports hunting than anywhere Hunters are just pompous greedy selfish people who just want to brag about what they have killed Yes America and the world should ban the import of lion trophies but also any other dead animal just shot for pleasure Killing wildlife is not a game

"Mining," "harvesting": despicable euphemisms for animal slaughter! Signed and noted, in hopes the U.S. government does the right thing and will no longer be a party to wiping out lions.
