It was the 1970s, before today's deskunking shampoos existed. It was a long night.

Everyone in skunk country take notes. This is the formula we use at the hospital and recommend to callers. It really works! But remember it will explode if you you try to save leftovers. The OTC shampoos are not really good for they're skin.

Thanks for the recipe. I copied it sent it to my home email where I will keep it should I need it. Actually the ingredients make sense, but I like you, would have started with the tomato juice.

Another reason why cats should not be let out doors. She's lucky the cat is alive - a trapped skunk can tear a cat to pieces.

Poor Gandalf!. Our neighbor's dog got skunked quite some time ago.....he tried the tomato juice. I will be keeping this recipe as my little dog is very active in our huge back yard and we live across from a farmer's field....we may get a few skunks again. Thanks Cher.

Love that last picture! Been down that road with my German Shepherd, twice. He loved to play with black kitties with white stripes! I miss you, Duncan!
