Noted, signed with comment below, twittered and google shared. TY Cher.

This is beyond dirty politics. This is a blatant statement to the country that you don't give a damn about environmental effects, climate-change, or public health. Just so long as your pockets get lined, where's the problem, right?

Petition signed. This bill is very dangerous both for the environmental damage it would legalize, and for its conflict of interest/merging of state and corporate power. That merger is always one of the defining characteristics of fascism, as developed by Mussolini, in which corporations formally take over some of the powers and functions of government.

Pres. Franklin Roosevelt put it this way: "The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. ”

— Franklin D. Roosevelt, April 29, 1938. Message to Congress.

According to data that industrial polluters must report to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2010, polluters released more than 1 million pounds of toxic pollution into the air breathed by residents in each of twelve counties (listed in descending order by amount)—Columbus (3,972,385 lbs.), New Hanover (3,056,955lbs.), Wayne (2,148,960 lbs.), Haywood (2,062,632 lbs.), Chatham (1,959,508 lbs.), Beaufort (1,949,921 lbs.), Rutherford (1,9365,551 lbs.), Gaston (1,765,023 lbs.), Rowan (1,427,134 lbs.), Brunswick (1,275,653 lbs.), Rockingham (1,272,794 lbs.) and Catawba (1,053,677 lbs.) counties.

"This proposal represents political shenanigans at their worst. SB10 would allow the Governor and our state legislature to immediately re-structure these commissions with new appointments, likely stacking them in a manner that essentially puts polluters and industry in charge of themselves. In fact, at least one part of SB10 would ALLOW conflicts of interest (on the Coastal Resources Commission). The Charlotte Observer writes that SB10 is "one of the more blatant power grabs in state history, and would clear the way for unchecked ideological policymaking from commissions designed to be independent and non-ideological. It gets rid of public servants before their terms end ..."

What crap! Of course it is a red state, what more should we expect?! Signed
