A new type of glazing offers a like-for-like replacement of polycarbonate conservatory roofs. The double-glazed units, called "Refresh", are coated on the outside to reflect heat back in the summer, but retain internal warmth in the winter.

I realize these were UK offerings, but I found wool insulation to be an interesting idea.

Problem with most good products is lack of
distribution. We are just now getting some
"green" cleaning products here in Mazatlan.
I recently started making my own.

Vera: dear me, how cynical. It's not always a question of buying new stuff and throwing out the old. Many new homes are built, and these ideas could be incorporated instead of older technologies

On wool for insulation - seems a waste of good wool. I have had four houses insulated with treated paper fibre. It is fireproof and rodent resistant, and very effective. It makes several degrees difference, winter and summer.

Interesting article, but I feel I would do a project like replacing my roof with something 'greener' when my old roof needs replacing. I don't want to be filling the land fills with anything unless I absolutely need to.
Thanks Cher.
