China is allowing the use of the bones of captive-bred tigers to be used as a tonic wine, even though the practice has been illegal since 1993.

Noted, signed with comment, shared. "China unfortunately has a shameful and embarrassing reputation worldwide for its lack of protection of wild and domestic animals. The inhumane treatment of tigers, a critically endangered species, is of particular concern. Please follow the very positive precedent you have already begun in closing bear bile factories, by shutting down the already illegal facilities producing tiger bone wine and all other tiger products, and by cracking down on the poaching and trade of this environmentally essential animal."

If the people that buy this tigerbone wine, as well as shark fin soup, could be convinced that cockroach tea made from cockroaches found in low-income housing is a good aphrodesiac, or will bring untold riches to the drinker, then maybe their gullibility could be turned to good use. I'm just kidding, of course.....

Tiger bone wine? I've never heard of it before now and I hope it's the last. How people can believe such rubbish is beyond me!

I can however understand anyone's reluctance to change when I bear these wise words in mind;

"The search for reality is the most dangerous of all undertakings, for it destroys the world in which you live" ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj

Noted, Signed & Shared! Tiger farms in China are infamously cruel with tigers being slowly started to death so that people who own these farms can sell parts of the tiger legally and sell tiger bone wine. There have been many witnesses to the egregious cruelty which goes on there including keeping some tigers totally isolated in cages barely bigger than they are in absolute darkness. Many people have also seen tigers who looked like a bag of bones because of the terrible neglect. They have also seen tigers forced to kill each other for food! This is what some Chinese business men have brought about due to keeping the vast majority of Chinese people ignorant and thus being able to perpetuate myths about ancient Chinese medicine which has no value and only continues this sordid industry which the beautiful tiger is made to pay the highest price!

Stop PURCHASING ANYTHING MADE IN CHINA. Look at the labels. You don't need it if it is made there and they just kill, mame, pollute and then sell it back to us. Buy only American, organic, humanely treated and non toxic. Otherwise, take the bus, grown your own food, learn how to make your own soap and household non toxic products and big ticket items like TV and computers - demand that those manufacturing jobs come back to US soil under FDA approval. Theyalso run sweat shops- thanks Steve Jobs for that little known fact.
