Right now, the Reef is at a crossroad. Climate change and coastal development could seal the fate of the Great Barrier Reef for good, unless we act now. Surging coal exports are driving the Reef to the brink. Together our voices can rise above those who

WHY WE NEED TO SAVE THE REEF
1
It provides habitat for an amazing array of marine wildlife: turtles nest, dugongs feed, fish make their homes, and humpback whales travel there to calf.

2
Itís at risk right now from the reckless expansion of the coal industry. Climate change, dredging and increased shipping could seal its fate.

3
It provides employment to 60,000 Queenslanders and contributes $6 billion to the economy every year.

4
Itís a World Heritage Area internationally renowned and recognised for its beauty and diversity, size, complexity and integrity.

5
When it was listed as a World Heritage Area, the Australian Government promised to safeguard it for future generations. Let's hold them to their word.

The Great Barrier Reef is unique. There are all forms of life which do exist it it.

Coal pollution would harm and destroy much of it. The coal industry must not build.

Signed and noted, The Great Barrier Reef belongs to the world, not just the coal industrie. Australia is only the caretaker and must show responsibility.I have been there, an unforgettible site of nature's creation. Why destroy it to supply China with more coal to pollute our planet. GREED!
