Please support passage of the "PUPS Act" (S. 395). Thousands of dogs are suffering immensely in "puppy mills" -- large-scale, unethical commercial dog-breeding facilities -- so they can be sold to unsuspecting consumers. Dogs produced in puppy mills

All pupy mills should be forbidden and banned completely. Also cat mills should be closed and banned. Those mills are not led by responsible breeders but by greedy people who don't care about the welfare of animals. Only the bucks count! DON'T BUY PUPPIES OR KITTIES FROM PUPPY MILLS OR PET STORES THAT DON'T HAVE THE SEIGN ON THEIR DOORS THAT THEY DON'T GET THEIR PETS FROM A PUPPY MILL!

I wrote to Sen Sherrod Brown and made a list of changes for Puppy breeding, He never accepted my ideas. He never helped stop Puppy mills either. I made a list of jobs that could be created to over see breeding of dogs and cats. He never took heed to my ideas there either. Also ways to bring revenue to State and counties. He didn't accept those ideas either. so now shelters, pounds, streets are over crowed with unwanted pets, many die run over by cars, some on purpose by sick wicked humans, while the animal suffers till death comes, gassed slowly to death, many tortured by animal haters, all the while stupid people buy these poor puppies and promote the suffering of the sire and dams. and the heartless sadisitc breeder makes a bloody buck! We need to go in and Impeach all the lazy over paid hypocrites in the White house and Congress! YES I signed the Petition

For about 5 years now I have worked with a dog rescue. I firmly believe there should be a 5 year moritorium on any dog breeding, allowing all homeless dogs to be placed. Thereafter, breeders should pay a LARGE fee - such as $5,000 - to breed their dogs (no matter the ultimate size of the litter.) These funds could be used to help place the dogs the breeds dump at shelters and on the sides of the road. It could also be used for more spay / neuter programs.

done & done... it is hard to realize how much indifference, greed and human corruption exists. If not, puppy mills would not exist and animals would not need to fear humans. What a condemnation this is for our species....

Sorry ALDF. I will not sign the petition. Licensing puppy mills is like giving authorization to keep doing the same thing they are doing until now. Animals adopted from shelters are not supervised, shelters do not need to quantify and explain how many animals are killed every year. Who is going to supervised constantly more than 1,000 small breeders if so many shelters are ignored? Not supervised? Dogs sold from by puppy mills are commonly "complete" dogs that new owners use to make money too! Who will check all those "first time breeders" again and again every six months?????? Some shelters are even unknown for some institutions. What would happen with small breeders? Who will know they exist? 50 dogs is not a magic number! Less than 15 dogs could create a problem reproducing every six months. And what could keep puppy mills from throwing unsold ,unwanted, overexploited dogs in the shelters? What will the real homeless, real stray, really needy animals win with this measure? Smaller animals from shelters are now the favorites of shelter adopters! This is not about dogs sell on streets or on line only!!!!!! This is also about dogs thrown in shelters and being causing a high cost to states & that are the cause that humble, real homeless, real stray, real needy, less appealing, BULL type dogs!, OLD!, BIG! sick, disable etc... cannot get an opportunity to find a loving home! Please! revise this bill because the cause of sheltered animals is a shame. They CANNOT COMPETE WITH PUPPY MILL WASTES!!!!!!!!!!! Where is this situation mentioned in the bill? Only that puppy mill products suffer and die is mentioned there etc... and that many sheltered animals do not find homes, but the reason for this it is no clearly specified or explained there! Well, they arrive to shelters non stop and are causing an unimaginable cost to states and tax payers and preventing that more needy animals than them could find a home. Money from licenses given to shelters to help dogs will logicly help dogs with more possibilities to survive and which are those? Which are the smaller, the "cute ones", the smaller pure breed or small mixes? The ones prefered by shelter adopters? Puppy mill products!!!!! If they are becoming the favorites even when people criticize puppy mills, what will happen when puppy mills become licensed and accepted? The same disadvantaged dogs will keep suffering and dying but in far bigger numbers!!!! No one is contemplating the real situation of authentic dogs in need!!!!!! PIT BULLS, ALL BULL TYPE, BiG, OLD, SICK , DISSABLED, PREGNANT, ORPHAN, HOMLESS, USED AS BAIT, USED TO FIGHT, DEEMED AS AGRESSIVE, WITH A BAD DESCRIPTION, WITH FEAR!!!!!!!, VICTIMS OF FORECLOSSURE & MOVINGS, LESS APPEALING, COMMON LOOKING etc... ALL THOSE PRECIOUS LIVES WILL END FOR NOT HAVING ENOUGH SUPPORT, AN OPPORTUNITY! IT IS HAPPENING TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW????????? RE THINK BILL PLEASE!!!!!!!!! DISSADVANTAGED DOGS WILL FALL THROUGH THE CREVICES OF A GOOD INTENTION!
