Close a door on a cat for five minutes -- and somehow those are the five WORST minutes of that cat's life!

Thanks for another cat article, Cher. They make my day! I just don't close the bathroom door anymore because it's too traumatic for everyone. Besides, opposable thumbs or not, Amirah hears the racket and just comes and opens the door for everyone. Anyway, I don't need THAT much privacy! The cats kindly don't judge my bathroom habits.

The ONLY time I close the bathroom door is when I shower and it's just to keep the warmth in. But I know Ruby The Cat will be patiently waiting on the other side for me.

I can't close ANY door except to the outside. My two will come flying from wherever they are if we so much as close a door over to dress ourselves. They bounce the door open, walk in, then turn and leave without so much as looking your way. Heaven help you if you have guests.

This is so true. Had to laugh. I never shut any of my doors anymore. When I have company, I have to remember to shut the bathroom door, and that really upsets my cats - to think I left them alone with these strangers.

2 questions please: Who /what is "mane of Mufasa" ?
Has anyone's cat ever peed on the sofa? (and yet you open the bathroom door?) ;)

Noted - cute article. I can't have a cat due to severe allergies, but there a many in my neighbor hood, and I love to watch them. Unfortunately, my dog just wants to bark at them and chase them (but only a bit, as he is a scaredy cat - couldn't resist). Thanks Cher.

Posted. The perfect chuckle for the perfect day. Now about that New Yorker cartoon years ago; the one about the cat using calculus to jump up on the table. Yep if I just figure the correct XY sequence in order to calculate the parabolic arch and displacement needed to jump up on that table....Meroowwwrrrr

My cats have the run of my house, so I do whatever they want.

My solution: My cat goes into the bathroom with me. Had 1 siamese cat that would get in the shower with me.

Luckily our bathroom door has a huge window in it. The cats love to death-stare at you when you're just getting comfortable on the toilet. No signs of grief there!

When we got our latest cat, I made the mistake of closing the bathroom door to take a shower. Well, he clawed the carpet up! Now, I close it just enough for him to come in when he wants to.

We have doors to our shower and he has recently figured out a way to jump from the toilet to the top of the doors. It scared the be - jeepers out of me the first time he did it.
