How will the expansion of the shale gas industry affect average Americans? The projected prosperity will come in a measurable form, an increase in GDP. Profits will soar for large energy corporations, while those who live in the midst of the gas wells

Fracturing deep layers of rock under the earth, is (not maybe) contaminating our aquifers, leaching into our farm lands, adding pollution to the air we breath, causing cancer, asthma. There is both anecdotal, medical and scientific reach to substantiate that claim, a multiple of human and wild life destruction. When tap water catches on fire from fracking, you know there is a big problem. Watch: Gasland - the documentary.

As often happens, it takes a disaster for humankind to wake up. Right now, profit, over the environment is the focus.

It's hard to believe that our "government" could be such Bad Stewards of our planet.

It's not just that Kit there's the cross contamination from the open slurry ponds. There's seepage but there's also cross contamination via wind movement which deposits the polluted water elsewhere. What pisses me off is that the self righteous Euro elites ban it in their countries but are heavy investors in such projects as Fracking and bitumen shale harvesting. I guess they won't be happy until they've killed us all.

Our politicians and corporations are killing us, and they do not even care. How sad is that?

We were promised tremendous efforts toward renewable and sustainable energy solutions NOT more oil and gas methods. How clearly have we said "NO"? We are not being heard. So, what can we do ? How can we be heard? How can we rip the world's lips from Big Oil's (& Gas...same danged thing) Corporate tit?

It's past time to wean the world! NO MORE nursing from poisoned tits!
