Conspicuous consumption has never been my thing. I'd rather have freedom from paying off exorbitant bills for "things" and being able to enjoy life without having all that debt hanging over my head.

Noted. Thanks, Cher. I've never been a "shopper"...except for groceries for my family. And, I'm finding the older I get, the less I "need." I take so much pleasure in "not needing." It's also set an example for my kids.

I hate shopping and only do it when absolutely necessary. I also downsized from a huge living space to 450 square ft (less heat, air conditioning, etc) I'm still trying to get used to it, but I know I did the right thing.

When 2 basic needs are met, for the most part, the rest will fall into place. These are the reduction/elimination of hunger, and the need for clean drinking water.
