The RESTORE Act offers the Gulf a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to restore decades of ecosystem damages and to repair and sustain the communities and economy that rely on that ecosystem. To date, the system for public input has limited the opportunity

The fossil fuel use is a huge threat to the planet, since it only increases the global warming and increases also CO2 emission. I fear that the Kyoto Protocol may be one reason for this unsurpassed effort to dig and frack and drill every possible fossil fuel site. The politicians simply give in to lobbers for fossil fuels, they do not think about the consequences and the future. The UN established the Kyoto Protocol for a reason, and that was to slow down climate change, but th effect has been just opposite.
It is saddening to think what kind of an earth are we leaving to the future generations, and the present environmental polices will not be kindly thought of. Every time fossil fuel is used, the CO2 emissions go up and more greenhouse gases go up into the atmosphere, the ozone layer of which is thinning and causing more and more UVA ans UVB radiation reach the earth's surface killing first surface micro organisms and the sea plankton, the very basics of the oceanic food chain.
The crude oil is the worst pollutant in the oceans, because it affects plankton and all sea birds and mammals in the spill area. The shipments should not be by boats anymore, there have too many accidents ti date. Neither should those mammoth pipelines like Keystone XL be built. The danger of a leak is far too real, and when ti happens, ti spoils acres and acres of land for decades.
The whole fossil fuel business should be put out of business, if any hope could be given to this earth, but the oil people may not like about the idea. But at this day and age I would say I don't care what they think, we have a responsibility to the future generations, we are the generations who decide what is our heritage.

Noted and signed, reluctantly. The compensation money will only serve the greedy polititions and lawyers. BP will roam at will. The next spill will be no different, no action, only money for the greedy polititions and lawyers!
