Many dog breeds have this instinct, including mine. Tips from trainer Gloria Post made a world of difference.

I imagine most hunting dogs would. It's not good for a GSD (or any shepherd), but my boy hates anything animal on "his property", cats, squirrels, foxes, and ravens. But it is a much more silent chase. He doesn't have much or a turning radius so everything get's away.

One of my beagles loved to tree rabbits. She didn't do anything but tree them, so I didn't worry about her killing things, if she had we would have sought some outside help.

My guys enjoy a playful chase occasionally but have never gone beyond that. Good thing, because they're huge powerful dogs that could do real damage.

Interesting article. When I had a dog, he was not very interested in chasing anything, except going out for long longs by the river with me.

We don't have dogs, but we have cats and they love to chase their toys.

Yes! Our Ava is one of those!!!
I sadly had to bury a couple (4 actually!) of my own chooks due to her prey-drive :( , now she is almost two and we seem to have trained her to stay out of the chicken coop (phew) but everything that runs is still GREAT FUN to her ( on one occasion she even grabbed a rainbow lorikeet from mid air, which I luckily could rescue...).
