G*d preserve them but I think it's a losing battle.

Not a single positive word in the article. Clearly, if India can't help the tiger, other countries have to step in.

They're facing a threat from poachers--the scum of the world. Get them out of the way and maybe genetics will take care of themselves.

It is not only the other countries stepping in but about how many poachers we can take out and keep out! Frankly I am all for first offense poaching being the death penalty, to be carried out within 24 hours of the arrest! Enough time to say good bye to their family, which is still more time than they gave these defenseless animals! They gave them no time on this earth! Maybe harsh laws, carried out immediately, is what it is going to take! Take a lesson from Hussein! When he was found, he was tried and hanged in less than 30 days!! Swift justice!

I've been saying this for years. We let threatened species get down so low that they don't have a good gene pool to keep the species strong. That just isn't right.
