I'm glad to see this hunting put on hold. The article did not address any reason why there is a need for culling of these cats, it would a fool hardy decision to allow the killing of 3 cats. If there were some reason for culling, disease or illness, that should be done by state Rangers, not a hunt.

Hunting = money for the state. Period. That is the only reason. And often at the behest of ranching and hunting industries. For hunters, it's a fun sport. It all sickens me to my soul. Just reading this, sickens me. Woopee, they put it on hold for now, but that does not change the prevalent sociopathic mind toward other species.

good news that the hunt is off. 100 permits for 3 mountain lions...that just seems so wrong

Yes, but the decision has only been delayed to consider public comment which seems biased toward the hunt.

With all the animal population in the world on a dowmward spiral all hunting should be stopped and a better idea let the hunters go hunt and shoot each other skin each other and stick their heads on the walls That way the planet will get rid of a load of people that are low lifes and a wasted space on this planet because they just have a killing mentality and have no care and compassion for this planet and the creatures on it

Issuing permits to kill 3 cats? I read this twice, and I was still confused in Nebraska's need for this.

Noted. I guess if they must do it, that is the way to go about it. Do Nebraskans have a special sense of respect for laws that limit kills that hunters in other areas do not? It's a relief that the deadly hobby is postponed.

I think you are quite right Constance. It's nothing but a money plot.

There are 15 to 22 cats and the gov't thinks it's OK to kill 3 of them? What the hell are they putting in the drinking water?

Good deal. The psychological profile of serial killers is consistent with the characteristic traits of hunters . . . . why would any government promote this type of behavior?

I would think that a limit of 3 animals is not wortth a hunt. I didn't know there were any mountain lions in NE.

I'm glad to see it is on hold and I hope it is totally stopped. I wish there were a petition to the appropriate party.
