Since the late 1990s, beekeepers around the world have observed the mysterious and sudden disappearance of bees, and report unusually high rates of decline in honeybee colonies. Bees make more than honey - they are key to food production

"If the bee disappeared off the face of the earth - Albert Einstein said - the man would not remain that four years of life."
The horrible prophecy of the great physicist is actually the result of a lucid reasoning: no bees, no pollination, so no plants, no animals herbivores and then no more men.

Beyond the paradox, the presence of industrious insects on the planet is essential, and the fact that today the total population of bees appears halved, is becoming a planetary emergency.

The mysterious phenomenon of die-off of bees is rampant worldwide, the United States the situation is even more dramatic: in some areas of the hives were devastated, with a mortality rate of 60-70%, so that has been coined the syndrome of Colony Collapse Disorder
"If we have less honey, we will use more sugar," some might think
(with the same vision of Marie Antoinette Queen of France, who would have said, on the eve of the revolution: "If people have no bread, eat brioche").
It does not.
The massacre of bees not only jeopardizes the future of beekeeping, but has an impact on all of our agricultural sector, since more than a third of the crops are pollinated thanks to their work.

Apples, pears, almonds, citrus fruit, peaches, kiwi, chestnuts, cherries, apricots, plums, melons, watermelons, tomatoes, zucchini, soybean, sunflower and rapeseed depend entirely or in part by bees for the production of fruits, as well as the vast majority of vegetable crops from seed, such as garlic, carrot, cabbage and onion, they can only reproduce with the bees.
But bees are also useful for the cattle with the pollinating action that play against forage crops such as alfalfa and clover, which are fundamental to the meadows for farmed animals.
Only In Italy, the loss of hives, last year, resulted in an economic loss for the non-pollination of $ 330 million
The bitterness of the accounts gives way to a disturbing question:

A beekeeper explains, "We find no dead bees in the hives. Our bees disappear without a trace. So it is difficult to understand the cause of the catastrophe. "
Among the assumptions made, as well as viruses and parasites, often the result of introductions of species from other countries, there are those who places the responsibility for the massacre too many
spread pesticides on crops, while others point the finger on genetically modified seeds (GMOs), for other electromagnetic waves would still be activated by cellular telephony, responsible for the difficulties encountered in that the bees return to their hives.
But a new hypothesis has been launched, the presence of a new enemy of bees should not be underestimated: "The role of climate, because its irregular pattern can disrupt the normal flow of nutrients that are needed by bees for their growth and development, weakening the defenses of the hive. "
