Don't let the government do the 'research and development', they proved themselves incompetent with Solyndra. Corporate investment and subsidy should develop PV cells and solar concentrators to where they'll provide competition for fossil fuels. Such devices as Climax tanks to preheat hot water (reduces the electricity used) are already proven and should be publicised.
