Keep Britain Tidy and many other organizations have expressed serious concerns about the government's new National Curriculum, which is to be finalized in September following a consultation period and is to be ready for implementation in 2014.

In the US, as far as NJ's curriculum is concerned, enviromental studies have been long removed.

How grotesquely irresponsible and regressive of the Secretary of State for Education Michael Gove and the Department of Education - maybe they need to revisit and reelect a more progressive body. Yes, Allan, In the US back in the 70's, ecology (as it was called then ) was a part of the curriculum in middle and high schools ~ and now ? ?

Yeh, well, don't teach 'em while they're young ~ that wouldn't be a good idea, would it? (!!??!!)

First at home and then in school. We may have some real problem solving students out there. Let's help them along with our planet.

Our educational system does not care about our kids anymore but the government tries everything to brainwash our children just to think like they want them to.
It is more than time that our educational system, the artificial testings, etc. are being changed.
Parents have to insist that our kids are being brought close to nature again. Our environment, climate changes, etc. should be taught from Kindergarten on.

Allan, thank you for mentioning that.
What stupidity on the part of the educational "experts," to foster ignorance about something so important. I guess they think along the lines of "Keep them dumb, keep them quiet. No waves, BUSINESS as usual."
"Yea, that's the ticket." Business as usual has put the world into how many wars?? Smart!

People spread like vermin; that's why the environmental study is so important for us as well as for the future.
