Cher Away

When Pasado's Safe Haven arrived at the feedlot, we knew that we only had room for one horse. But how could we choose? All of these animals deserved to live. And then we saw Lola.

TY Cher. I am glad Lola was saved but my heart goes out to her friend that cried out desparately when Lola was led away. The safe havens for animals are so small in comparison with the rapacious misuse and cruelty toward animals. I give to the local animal charities and that is all I can afford. I wish I could do more.

Nice she was saved, but feel sad for her companion. When my mother had a horse pass away, the other horse buddy did not survive long. They both were old horses, the oldest being 32. Wishing Lola a long life.

Glad Lola was saved but myheart breaks for th eothers. The USA is bad for throwing away animals and thank nothing about it. They want someone else to clean up the mess they started. We need to make ALL who breed or let their animals breed, whether its cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, etc. responsible for the lives they bring into this world and if they take these animals to slaughter, and not care for them the rest of their lives, then have all animals taken away from them for life. These people who give away cats, dogs, horses, etc. are breaking up families and don't think anything about it. They only do what's good for them. None of these people should ever have an animal and I hope the laws will change to make them responsible or take all animals away from them forever.

"Horses are shipped long distances, often for more than 24 hours at a time in overcrowded trailers, packed in so tightly that they canít move. In these trailers, they do not have access to water, food, or rest. Many horses are often seriously injured or killed in transit to the slaughterhouses.

When they arrive at the slaughterhouse, their deaths are slow, terrifying, and brutal."

I once stopped at a small market in the country to get something cold to drink. I saw a trailer like this, packed with terrified cow, horses and pigs. All on top of each other and making the saddest cries.

I waited until the driver came out and proceeded to tell him exactly what I thought of him and his "cargo" and his destination...which he would not say. I made him wait there while I got a bucket and filled it with water, over and over again, each animal drank its fill. I petted them all and apologized for what what we were doing to them. I couldn't stop a rig like this, and when I tried to free the animals, the tailgates were of course locked. What would have happened had I freed them? I will never know........

This makes me ill. Thanks for getting the word out yet again

~L.

I'm glad that she was saved, but, crying for all the horses that die every year, its just unfair!

I will hope that the "kill buyer" gets his. People like that deserve nothing but the worst, monsters that they are.

Sad, so sad.!! WHEN WILL MANKIND, STOP HAVING COLD, CALLUS REGARD FOR ANIMALS?.!!! THEY WANT TO LIVE, LIKE US, AND THEY HAVE FEELINGS, AND EMOTIONS LIKE US.!! THEY FEEL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL PAIN LIKE HUMANS.!! TAKE HELEN KELLER, A PERSON WHO COULD NOT SEE OR HEAR, WHO HAD AN INTELLECT, JUST BECAUSE YOU CANNOT SPEAK, DOES NOT MEAN HUMANS OR ANIMALS DO NOT HAVE SMARTS.!!!!!

I didn't read the story about Lola and I'm glad I didn't because even though I am happy for Lola it broke my heart to read the comment about her friend that got left beind. If I could be God for just one day, I would create MORE ANIMAL MIRACLES and human miracles. SLAUGHTERING HORSES, GONE!! As well as other animal slaughters......

Pasado's Safe Haven does amazing work with the resources they have. I'm glad she was saved but there is much more rescue work to be done here in the Pacific NW. I hope we all think globally and act locally to do what we can on behalf of the animals.
