Aceh's verdant rainforest is one of the largest in Southeast Asia, and is the only place in the world where elephants, tigers, orangutans and rhinos all still live together. Up until now it has been a beacon of hope for wildlife diversity. But...

How can the Indonesian government let this happen! The devastation is vast! The land, the elephants, the people of Indonesia!

WATCH VIDEO.

If chopping down and destroying the forests were not enough! The Elephants are being killed by the Indonesian people with rat poison!

I HATE PALM OIL AND EVERYTHING THAT IS AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING FROM IT! WHAT A NIGHTMARE! So damn sad...

I didn't know everything about sodium lauryl sulfate before viewing the video...only thought it was not good for our hair. Thank you for broadening my understanding. Sincerest thanks, Cher.

Signed. You know all us old timers that used to eat Oreo cookies like they were going out of style? Well, that center contains palm oil! I haven't eaten them in years and never will again.
What is wrong with this government that they would even dream of destroying this forest? Have they never heard of Easter Island? It makes me so sad to think of all those animals that could go extinct just for a bunch of cookies and then some.

Should this happen, I hope the people of Sumatra will demand his resignation. What are the chances of that happening!!!!!!

Noted and signed. It goes to show, Indonesia is not willing to listen, their government is useless and overpaid by Western food and timber industrie. Recent events have shown this very point.
My wife spent time in Singapore and Southern Malaysia (Johore) to visit family, only to return early because of massive pollution, the worst they ever had in history. It was caused by uncontrollable burning of Sumatran rain forrests by rogues paid by the rich and powerful. Give a handful of rice to a poor man trying to feed his family, sure he will help the wealthy to destroy his country.
But the real ones to blame are the Western food companies who demand more palm oil, cheap and nasty. Their theory is, overproduction, in the end Big Food will get Palm oil virtually for nothing, more profit.
A tactic used by the wealthy, when things go wrong, take your billions and go somewhere else. There are many countries that will accept them, for the money.
The day will come when the Palm oil market will totally collapse, together with those producing countries, Indonesia to mention only one.
The day will come when palm oil will have to be labelled in capital letters instead of a number somewhere in small print on the back of a package.
We need to have Palm Oil and GMO contents in CAPITAL LETTERS on the front page of the packaging. I know we are all dreaming here for choices to make in our life, but government and big industrie will deny us our democratic rights and screw us for the $$$.
Now, the wildlife is almost gone in Indonesia, after the last few weeks we lost a lot more, Elephants, Rhinos, Sumatran Tigers and Orang Utans to mention only a few. Indonesia in a few years to come will be a waste land and not be able to feed its self. Do not beg for help, you dug your own grave, the wealthy maggots have long left you.
