My cat shreds like a pro. And that makes my life a pain. How do you deal with your shredders?

Fortunately no my cats are not shredding machines. I have been told that using fresh lemon juice in a mister will help stop cats or dogs from shredding furniture.

Amirah !! (She IS my problem child!) I just give her wadded up papers. But the TP gets a good workout every so often!

I love my cats and put up with the shedding. They are allowed on everything I own. What helps on upholstered furniture is to use a rubber glove like you'd use in the kitchen (they're usually yellow), get it damp and wipe the upholstery. It works like a charm. Better than any vaccum attachment I've found. I wipe the upholstery in circular motions and keep a spray bottle full of water near as the glove gets dry quickly. I also have a sponge that is made for pet hair that I use sometimes and it works pretty well. I think I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond many years ago. Don't know if they still make them.

I don't have any trouble with our three cats. Your cats are more iportant than your silly stuff. Just love the cats the way they are.

That is the reason why they need a scratching post :-)

This reminds me of the time, back when our cat had kittens. I remember stepping out of the house to bring my two young sons, home. When we got back in the house, our kittens had video tape, unround, all around the living room and dining room and the most innocent looks on their faces. :-)))))

I used to use cat pan liners in the litter boxes but one cat used to shred them up. As for cat trees, they work up to a point. Once the carpet gets shredded they start to eat the shredded carpeting and barf it up. Then the carpeting gets removed and I replace it with sisal rope. Then they start eating the sisal rope and barfing it up. I should be thankful they normally leave the other furniture alone.
