All ideas are worth trying unless the allergy is an excuse to get "rid" of the pet.

Good tips for my shelter who return cats because they didn't "know their child was allegic..."

None of these was really an option when I was a kid. There's much to be said for passive immunity. LOL! It works for me ~ just look where I spend my days and nights. Sometimes a little uncomfortable, but never unmanageable.

Thank you, Cher!!! I live on Zyrtec and Benadryl! Now if I could just find the time to vacuum and bathe the cats every day, I know I would be better off. We've had Biscuit for 18 years! Needless to say, I will never give her up! We also adopted a feral kitten/cat who chose our home four years ago. We named her Chloe, but she developed a "lipstick," and we tried to rename him Smokey, but he didn't like it and wouldn't come when we called him, so we call him Mr. Chloe and he quite likes his name. He is such a dear cat, and we will never give him up either, so I will gladly live with the allergies!

Good post Cher!
Believe it or not I have been allergic to some cats and dogs.

Eventally I have always found a way to get over them or it just happens after awhile. I have my little list.
The post is a priority and deeply appreciated.

I agree with Kit, some people just use excuses to get rid of the animals!
