The apartment building at 253 W. 15th St. in New York City is reportedly using glue traps for rodent control! PETA implored Page Apartments, the management company responsible for the building in question, to consider methods that are less cruel, don't pose health risks, and are more cost-effective, but our pleas have gone unanswered. Your voice is needed!

Glue traps are some of the most vile products on the market, causing immense and prolonged suffering. Victims often rip themselves to pieces in their frantic struggles to escape the sticky mess. Exhausted and terrified, they succumb to shock, dehydration, asphyxiation, or blood loss—and death can take days. Furthermore, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as Health Canada warn against using glue traps because of disease risks posed by the many pathogens in the waste of stressed rodents.

Please urge Page Apartments to join the countless entities that have sworn off glue traps. And please, forward this alert widely!

I don't think there is any subject that makes me more furious than the word "trapping" - to me, it is the ultimate sin against any other living being......truly unimaginable suffering before death....

Unfortunately, the page you have requested is no longer available. But!
Noted, shared and e-mail sent.
Anyone that has one of these you know whats (can't say it) should jump in quick sand and maybe will get a small dose of what the mice go through.

PLEASE send e-mails!
Someone told me that they used one of these :( They checked on the mice after 2 days, the mice were still squeaking, and after 4 days, the same... They were discarded in the trash until trash day pick up...

I detest glue traps. I have heard of innocent wild birds getting caught in them too. I signed this. I even rescued a mouse from one back in the late '90's. They are been around that long! The mouse bit me. I got help for someone else where I worked. I could not stand seeing the poor thing struggling to get free. We used paint thinner to get him free then I dropped him in a bowl of water to wash off paint thinner. If this happened now I would call someone more experienced to help. I got bit and needed to get a tetnas shot. The doctor that gave me the shot said he didn't care about the poor animals getting caught in glue traps. I was furious!

Noted, email below sent, twittered and google shared. Thanks for Chering. Signed the Nosey petition also.

To whom it may concern:

I am writing to you today to respectfully request that you choose an alternative and humane way of dealing with rodents. The glue traps that you are currently using pose a health risk to humans due to the pathogens released when the animal has died.

They are also excessively cruel as it can take days for the mice to die, they also trap non-targeted animals and birds, and the creatures that are trapped often rip themselves apart in their terror and desperate need to escape. That is no way for any living creature to be treated.

You have a unique opportunity to show yourselves as a compassionate and educated company by choosing more humane methods. Please consider this request and make the appropriate choice.
