We share this world- the good Earth. We are a part of it; we have sprung from it; we give back to it when we die. This symbiosis is all that is truly real.

We do own it ... with all the waste and pollution that has become this one planet. So how is it not our fault?

Everything on, above and below the earth evolves as best it can to survive ... and our intrusion has certainly played a huge role in the badness of it all.

Extensedalism is great food for thought, not do much for reality.

"The ultimate truth of your existence is the balance & symbiosis with this planet."

Thanks for the daily dose of stupid! Biologic organisms, no matter how highly they think of themselves, do not and can not have symbiotic relationships with their environmental niche. Planet Earth is not a living organism, regardless of how convenient the comparison is. Symbiosis requires that both organisms benefit from their relationship and there is no possible way that humanity can be considered to benefit the Earth. Then there is the ignorant pap about oxygen. Oxygen is neither created, synthesized or destroyed by the actions of biologic organisms but only by the birth, life and death of stars.
The ultimate truth of your existence is a very brief association of elements in a biologic arrangement. All the Hubris in the Universe will not change the fact that you have no effect on the existence of the planet.

Lloyd H., I disagree that earth is not a living organism. We are not inhabiting a dead planet, but I do agree with you that we no longer benefit it. Man has cut himself off from his roots, which is why he has gone so horribly awry. Man is a sick creature with a hatred for all that is natural and good. He pollutes and maims and kills wherever he goes. Wildlife is not safe from him. He is also anti-his own kind and never will stop killing and raping. Well, the earth is still a remarkable planet--so beautiful--but for how long?

Quantum physics has proven that all is alive and aware.

Even atoms choose with whom to dance.
