This article like dozens of its kind does not discuss (becauses there is no answer) a dry food bowl if you have more than one cat.
There is no answer, and there isn't a vet in the country who could tell you how to separate an overweight cat's dry food from the others.

Obviously, you feed the cats in different rooms and put down ONLY as much food as they should have.

Yes, a fat cat means an unhealthy cat and it can also signal problems of a thyroid problem, a vet can check and also recommend portions suitable for each cat.

I agree with the comment of Dale, a fat cat is an unhealthy cat, if we love our animals we have to take care of them.
