Help Keep Coastal Lawbreakers in Line!

Thank you for sending an email to your Senator. Now can you help us one more time by making a call now to urge an "aye" vote?

We really need your help now to pass Assembly Bill 976, which will allow the Coastal Commission to impose a reasonable fine on chronic Coastal Act violators. These violators do everything from posting illegal and untruthful signs to prevent people from using public beaches, to building barriers to block public access to the coast and illegally filling in coastal wetlands.

Call your Senator now and ask for support on AB 976!

Signed. Though I suspect I'm from the opposite coast than the one you're focusing on (I'm now living on the East Coast). However, the waters of this planet belong to everyone--the same atmosphere envelops us all, and water evaporated from one part of the ocean could well affect someone half the world away!

It's good this bill died before it gave even more unchecked power to the Coastal Commissioners to use against political opponents. Time to reclaim the honorable intent of the Coastal Act and rethink the Coastal Commission in its present form. They already wield way too much control over California and turn their backs on La Jolla when allowing the City of San Diego close Children's Pool to create a tourist attraction. Coastal access doesn't matter there. Hypocrites.
